Biomarkers in patients with suspected HFpEF
Shortness of breath can be caused by many medical conditions. These include low fitness levels, heart or lung conditions, low blood counts (anaemia), or muscle problems.
The aim of this study is to examine the accuracy of different tests to tell us whether people with shortness of breath have heart failure or not. This would be particularly useful in people in whom the current gold standard tests for heart failure are not as accurate.
Heart failure is a medical condition where the heart is not able to pump blood to the body efficiently because the heart is abnormal in structure or function.
If you are interested in taking part in the study, please get in contact with the research team and read the attached patient information sheet (PIS), which will be sent to you by email.
If you would still like to participate once your questions have been answered, you will be asked to sign a consent form via this webpage or in person and to register your personal details.
